FROM THE TIMBERWOLVES OPERATIONS DESK
9/13/2014

Last year was a great year thanks to all of the parents and volunteers that gave of their time and talents to improve the field and facilities and to keep everything working during our Freshman, JV and Varsity games. Highlights of the year include the addition of a nice shed at the field level that gave the coaches easy access to our field maintenance and practice equipment.  Not only does it make their job easier, the shed looks great in its matching Chiles colors!

A big THANK YOU goes out to Scott Kolke and his crew who did an excellent job at updating and maintaining our sponsor signs on the field!  Volunteers also moved the flag pole to a more visible spot in the outfield so it can be seen by all during the national anthem. Although it may seem like a minor thing, another big job done by volunteers every year was maintaining the nets in the batting cages.

Last but not least, thank you to all who volunteered in the press box keeping the score and announcing games.  Jim Dudley was a big help in maintaining the equipment and moved things around to make it much more comfortable to sit in front of the microphone during a game.  It is nice having a group of “regulars” who know the equipment and know the “ropes” when it comes to announcing and keeping score!

Projects for the 2014-2015 year include replacing the faded sign above the scoreboard and extending the brick wall along the foul lines to the outfield fence.

Sometimes we take for granted how great our field and facilities are here at Chiles!  The field looked great all year and the new tarp also made it possible to play games when the weather was not being cooperative.  After traveling around to so many fields this summer, I am thankful to have the facilities and nice field that we enjoy here at Chiles High School!

Again, thanks to all who volunteered and we look forward to another great season!
