Coach Keith Cottrell is in 6th season at Chiles as the JV Head Coach. A graduate of Orlando Boone High School, Cottrell signed with Florida State to play football. While at FSU he was named All-ACC as a junior and senior and was 4 time academic All-ACC. A member of the 1999 National Championship team that went 12-0, he played in the first three BCS national title games. As a junior he was #2 in the country in punting. After Florida State, he signed a professional contract with Detroit Lions. He started his coaching career at his alma mater, coaching quarterbacks and baseball before coming to Chiles. In five years at Chiles, his teams are 100-18-1 (.847). Coach Cottrell is a member of the Social Studies Department where he teaches American Government and Economics.
